Program Detail

최대 1주일 20시간, 방학기간에는 최대 40시간 파트타임으로 일할 수 있는 오프캠퍼스 워킹퍼밋 프로그램은 2006년 6월 1일부터 시작되었습니다.

Begining on June 1, 2006 under immigration Canada's Off-Campus Work Permit Program, students will be able to work part time (Maximum 20 hours per week) off campus during their normal school year or 40 hours per week during the vacation period.

Program Requirements

Student applicants:

• 좋은성적과 F성적이 지난 2학기에 있으면 안되며, 현재 또는 다음학기 학비를 완전히 지불해야 합니다. 또한 지난 1년중 6개월이 연속적으로 Full Time 학생이었어야 합니다.
  

• Must be in good academic standing with no failing grade in the last two semesters,
• Must have paid their full fees (current up-to-date), and
• Must have been a full time student in a professional program for six of the last 12 months

최소 몇개의 수업을 들어야 full-time 학생이 되는지는 본인의 학교에서 확인을 요합니다. 또한 co-op 학기는 보통 6개월에 포함되지 않습니다.

That means four or more courses in each semester. (please check your own school international student center to be sure how many course have to be taken) A co-op semester does not count towards the six months.

• The application fee and receipt - $ 150 to Immigration
• Change of Conditions form (IMM 1249)
• Verification Form (IMM 5581)
• Student Acknowledgment and Consent From (IMM 5582)
• Document Checklist (IMM 5583)
• make a photocopy of the following : (inside of your passport)
• First page with your photo on it
• Any stamps that you received from the airport
• Your study permit

Process

일의 진행방향은 학교마다 다를 수 있으니, 반드시 본인이 다니고 있는 학교의 국제학생 사무실에서 문의하시기 바랍니다.

1. Student completes forms
2. International Student Centre determines if student meets basic program requirements
3. if forms are complete and student meets the basic program requirements, the International Student Centre forwards the documents to the Registrar, to have the documents approved and stamped.
4. Student pick up stamped documents from International Student Centre. Students should photocopy documents for any future reference and mail them in a large envelope to

5. Write your name and address at the top left-hand corner of the envelope. Have the post office weigh your envelope to ensure you put sufficient postage on it.

Working Permit 받기 / infomation, telephone & internet references
캐나다에 온지 1년 9개월째네요.
언어연수를 지나, 학교입학까지는 했는데...
학교를 그만둬야 하는 상황이 생겼었지요.

뭐 직업을 구해보고 안되면 그냥 돌아가지 뭐~ 라는 안이한 생각을 하며
백수생활을 즐기던중...
직장을 구하게 되었습니다. 뭐...보수도 작고 일주일에 3번정도 일하겠지만
(거기에 막노동 ㅡ.ㅡ)
전공이 그래픽 디자인이고, 직장도 디자이너로 일하게 되어서
Working Permit을 받아볼까 생각중입니다.
나중에 한국돌아가서 이민 신청도 그냥 해볼까라는 생각도...

(정말 생각없이 살고 있는듯함..ㅎㅎ)

우선, 캐나다 정부는 왜 회사가 캐네디언이 아닌, International Worker를 기용해야 하는지를 알고 싶어 합니다.
그래서 Job Offer Form for International Woker 서류를 받아야 하는데, 인터넷을 뒤져보니 (www.cic.gc.ca) HRSDC에 가서 서류를 받으라고 나와있더군요.
황당한게....그들의 대답은...우리들은 서류를 가지고 있지 않다 였습니다.
Lawrence Squre에 있는 곳과 25 St. Clair에 있는곳 두곳을 가도 동일한 대답이었습니다.

다행이 25 St. Clair에서, 약간의 정보를 얻었습니다.



위의 전화번호로 전화를 해서 5번을 누르니...관련 상담원과 통화를 할 수 있었습니다. 그녀의 이야기로는...인터넷에서 다운 받을 수 있다고 하더군요.
분명 cic.gc.ca에서는 HRSDC에 가서 서류를 받아오라 했는데...
어찌되었든, 메일(편지)로 보내달라고 하고, 인터넷 주소를 알려달라 했습니다.

HRSDC 홈페이지에서 Policy and Program선택, Foreign Woker Program선택후 forms webpage에 들어가면, (관련 홈페이지 바로가기-여길 클릭)
EMP 5239라는 화일이 있습니다.




현재 온타리오주 에서는 학생비자로도 일할 수 있게 되었기 때문에 조금 쉬워지지 않았을까 생각이 됩니다. (학생비자: 주 20시간 이내, 성적 우수, 최소 6개월 캐나다내 학교에서 수강 유)

될지 안될지는 모르지만, 워킹 퍼밋 신청해 볼까 합니다.
(사장님이 임시직원으로 고용할지, 정직원으로 고용할지 고민중 ㅎㅎㅎ)

혼자서 오늘 EMP 5239화일 하나 찾느라 하루를 버렸다는...
